My wife and I stopped in to try Black Market Pizza in Ankeny. They serve more than just pizza at this place from various sandwiches, salads, and ribs. There is about 20 tables so hitting off times is a good idea. They had 1 server last night so service was a bit slow. Deep dish pizza could take 40+ minutes. They do have a thin crust pizza- which is what we tried. The crust was good and I recommend that if you are pressed for time.

My family has decided the Okoboji Grill in Ankeny is our new favorite place for breakfast and lunch on Sundays. They serve a variety of breakfast platters and their regular menu items. My kids love the pancakes and I like the price. Kids eat Free with an adult meal purchase. So enjoy dining out again at Okoboji Grill in Ankeny.

We met our friends tonight for a get together at Bandanas Barbecue in Ankeny.  Our party consisted of 8 kids and 9 adults.  We did call ahead and they had a table ready for us.  Our waitress did a pretty good job keeping our drinks full considering she was solo.  Everybody was pleased with the taste and variety of items on the menu.   I ordered the slab of ribs which came with a large bowl of coleslaw and pile of fries.  There was enough food for 2 people or 1 big guy like me.  The ribs were very tender and tasted great.  They are dry rubbed leaving the option to try 1 of their 5 sauces.
