Tonight I met some new guys from church and played Bocce Ball. Bocce is traditionally played on an oyster shell court- however we played it in the park. We played in 2 teams of 4. The game starts out with a person throwing the small white ball - we called it the Pelini after the Nebraska football coach. Then we would throw alternately the Bocce Ball trying to be the closest to the Pelini. The team with the closest Bocce Ball to the Pelini was awarded 2 points. The 2nd closest was awarded 1 point. It got very interesting as we start play around the park obstacles. It was a challenge and lots of fun because the ground was rough and not flat. We played to 21 several times and this is definitely a game to play again.
