Smokey D's Double Meat Dinner

Transient

Today I visited Smokey D's for lunch right off 2nd Ave by the Harley Dealership.  I have visited this restaurant many times and the outcome is the same- delicious!    I have tried the baby back ribs, sausage, brisket, pulled pork, and burnt ends.  My favorite meal to get is the 2 meat dinner with a couple sides.  My favorite meat choices are the burnt ends and sausage.   The sausage is sweet, smokey, and tender.   The burnt ends are chunks of brisket ends that are packed with deep smoke flavor, dry rub, and a unique texture.   Just the nature of the beast.   You have many choices in sides and recommend that you step outside the box.   My favorite by far is the potato casserole and cucumber onion slaw.  The spud sticks, beans, and tater chips are good too.  They do have several locations serving different items so check out their website for a menu near you.  Sooo good!

Burnt Ends - Golden BBQ Nuggets

There is nothing like the smokey seasoned flavor of burnt ends. Like the rare metals from mother earth these overlooked barbecue morsels are delicious, packed full of flavor, and traditional part of Kansas City BBQ.

There are 2 parts to beef brisket- the point and flat. Burnt ends are trimmings from the point half of a beef brisket.  If the entire brisket is cooked whole(point and flat), then the point will be removed when the flat is done. The point must be smoked longer because the meat takes longer to fully cook to tender and render out fat and collagen. This longer cooking gave rise to the name "burnt ends".

The only thing you need to know is that burnt ends are good at Smokey D’s.
